Commonly Asked Questions
Concerning Lawn and Plant Care

Will Wright Outdoor Solutions’ weed control sprays
damage my flowers, shrubs, or other desirable plants?

We’ll make certain they don’t. Our crews have extensive training, and carefully apply products to ensure they land only where they are supposed to. Because of this, we will always keep sprays at least six inches from any desirable plants such as gardens, border plantings and shrubs. You will have weeds in these areas.

Do weed control or fertilizer applications have any harmful affects on people or pets?

Studies have shown that the products we use are all very safe when applied according to label directions—and of course we always follow label directions. To further minimize risk, however, please keep all people and pets off sprayed areas for 24-hours.

What if it rains after a treatment?

Rain can actually help fertilizer, insecticide and pre-emergent annual grass controls. The moisture helps activate the products. Broadleaf weed control is not reduced by rain unless very heavy rainfall occurs within a few hours of an application. If this occurs and weeds are not dying after 2 weeks call us and we will reapply the broadleaf control at no charge.

Why does Wright Outdoor Solutions use slow
release Nitrogen fertilizers?Aren’t they more expensive?

Slow release Nitrogen fertilizers are more expensive, but they are so much more beneficial for your lawn and the environment that we feel they are worth the expense. Since they feed your lawn slowly over time, they provide more consistent, even feeding—which means you don’t have a noticeable grass growth spurt, followed by weeks of meager performance. Slow release Nitrogen dissolves over time and is absorbed as turf needs it, which means less is lost to run off. It makes your lawn stronger, more disease resistant, and less susceptible to drought damage and burn.
